CCDS Awarded $75,000 Cummings Foundation Grant

CCDS is one of 150 local nonprofits that will share in $30 million through Cummings Foundation’s major annual grants program. The East Boston-based organization was selected from a total of 715 applicants during a competitive review process. We will receive $75,000 over three years.

One of the cooperative leaders at CCDS, Oscar Orozco, comments, “These funds allow us to continue developing training programs, providing mentoring, technical support, and creating an encouraging environment for emerging cooperatives to thrive. The funding facilitates sustainability, enabling the organization to fulfill its mission of promoting inclusive and equitable economic development in our community.”

With support from the Cummings Foundation, CCDS will offer additional professional development classes for cooperatives and more opportunities for the East Boston community to learn about cooperativism and the solidarity economy. We are grateful to Cummings for their support and their belief in our work to create an alternative solidarity economy!
