A united community for economic justice and solidarity.
WHO WE ARE
The Center for Cooperative Development and Solidarity (CCDS) is a community-based organization that promotes cooperativism and solidarity economies while supporting the development of worker-owned cooperatives, primarily in the immigrant community of East Boston. The majority of CCDS staff and leadership are Latina immigrants living in East Boston and surrounding communities that have been affected by economic inequality and rapid gentrification.
The CCDS structure aligns with cooperative values and principles. Staff have specific roles but work collaboratively to make our organization sustainable. The immigrants who make up our work team and steering committee are the ones who make the decisions and create social and economic solutions to our own challenges.
